Join us for this Insight Series episode on the climate and biodiversity crisis, hosted by the Society’s Northern Ireland Branch. The host for the episode will be Dr Geraldine O’Hare Chair of the branch.
This episode showcases the work of the Society’s Climate and Environment Action Coordinating Group (CEACG) and brings together five expert contributors. Together, the panel explores how psychology can inform understanding, engagement, and action in response to one of the most pressing challenges of our time.

Meet the Speakers
Terri Morrissey is Chair of the BPS Climate and Environment Action Coordinating Group and a member of the BPS Northern Ireland Branch. She is an organisational psychologist with extensive experience in sustainability, leadership, and culture change, and has held senior advisory roles across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
Richard Plenty, PhD is an organisational psychologist with an international career spanning public, private, and voluntary sectors. He has contributed to global psychology initiatives on climate action, including work with the American Psychological Association and the Global Psychology Alliance.
Dr Sarah Golding is a health psychologist based at the University of Surrey. Her interdisciplinary research uses a One Health framework to explore the connections between psychological, social, and environmental factors and health outcomes.
Dr Jan Maskell is an occupational psychologist, Teaching Fellow at Lancaster University, and Education Director at Scientists for Global Responsibility. Her work focuses on work psychology, sustainability, and behaviour change, and she is the author of Work Psychology and the Climate Crisis.
