What will this episode cover?
Your brain is an extraordinary organ, complex, powerful, and central to every thought, feeling, and behaviour. While we know it plays a crucial role in mental health and wellbeing, how much do we really understand about the way it works?
Join me as we explore the fascinating world of the brain and its connection to mental health. I will provide an accessible overview of key brain structures and functions, helping you better understand the science behind your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
We will also explore the importance of a holistic approach to wellbeing through the biopsychosocial model, recognising that our mental health is influenced by the unique interaction of biological, psychological, and social factors. This perspective highlights the importance of bio-individuality, understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing, and that what works for one person may not work for another.
You'll learn about the brain’s natural “feel-good” chemicals—DOSE (Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin and Endorphins) and discover practical, evidence-informed ways to support their production in everyday life. I will also introduce a wellbeing toolbelt of simple strategies and techniques that you can personalise and draw upon to support your mental health and resilience.
Step away from the demands of your day and join me for an empowering session leaving you with a greater appreciation of your beautiful brain and the tools to help it thrive. It might even feel a little like giving your brain a hug.
