Supervision is an essential element of a psychologist's practice, but effective supervision is not always easy to deliver. Challenges in supervision stem from a range of factors including structural, interpersonal and developmental constraints. In this webinar we will explore the key barriers and challenges to effective supervision and the dynamics that can influence the supervisory process. We will then consider some 'enablers' of effective supervision and the benefits of effective supervision, including some strategies to help you navigate complex situations in your supervision practice.

What will I learn?

The learning outcomes for this webinar are to:

  • identify and articulate some of the core challenges within clinical supervision.
  • understand how power, hierarchy, and relational dynamics shape the supervisory process.
  • apply evidence-based strategies to navigate complex supervisory dilemmas.
  • strengthen your supervisory formulation skills.
  • integrate a neuro-inclusive lens into your supervision practice.
  • reflect on your own supervisory stance and identity.
